The project
DESIGN BRIEF
In the beginning, a road between the metropolis and the gold. From that road a city emerged. Learning from its origin, the city grew and evolved as a flow, weaving through overland, rail, and water routes.
Três Rios, a prominent city on the border between the states of Rio de Janeiro and Minas Gerais, learned early on to live in transition, within a fluid and dynamic arena that forged the bold and daring identity for which its people are known today.
It is amid this optimistic environment, with its economy expanding rapidly and the city rising vertically at high speed, where urban space reconfigures itself in real time, that the project "Três Rios Cultural Complex" was born. It aims to become a landmark of museology, culture, and leisure for the state of Rio de Janeiro, and its program includes a Museum, a Memorial with a Cultural Center, the Clock Plaza, the new Bus Terminal, and the Walkway Plaza.
